Tara, Richard & Kenny knew just what they needed when building their property management team. This is because they have had their own rental properties for years. The good, bad and ugly ... they have seen it all but more importantly they have always exceeded expectation when faced with the unique challenges that come with being a property owner, and our team will do the same for you.

Leasing and Long-Term Rentals Manager, Owner

Richard Barry

Born and raised in St. John’s and a graduate from Memorial University’s Faculty of BusinessAdministration, Richard’s business background and knowledge of the metro area compliment his real

estate passion.

Teamed up with his wife Tara, they manage the Newground Group’s long-term rental & leasing relationships. A credit to his excellent interpersonal relationship building skills is his obvious affection for people.

Besides leasing and managing long-term rentals, Richard’s role extends to safety oversight for long-term

and short-term (Airbnb) rentals. His certificate in safety and past-applied experience provides Newground Group clients’ an informed understanding of industry safety requirements.

Tara Barry

Moving to metro to study business at Memorial University, Tara completed a BBA with a focus in

accounting. Besides having an oversight role for the Newground Group’s Airbnb client needs, she co-

manages the long-term rental relationships with her husband, Richard. She provides property owners

timely market insight, and is an excellent communicator who goes the extra mile.

Maintenance Manager, Owner

Kenny Barry

Kenny’s over 15 years experience as a journeyman carpenter are obvious when his tradesperson skills are required. Homeowners appreciate Kenny’s insightfulness problem solving skills and cost-effective mindset to their property’s repair and maintenance. Additionally, over the years Kenny’s keen eye for preventative maintenance has saved clients thousands of dollars. Homeowners and their tenants

regularly acknowledge his hands on approach to their property maintenance requirements – often attending to the work himself or directly assigning a qualified associate.

Guest Experience Manager

Raquel Thistle

Raquel is New Ground Group’s Airbnb Superhost! She has a passion for making guest experiences great.

She provides extra support to the Airbnb relationship manager to help keep New Ground Group’s growing Airbnb management business running smoothly. With years of management level customer

service experience, Raquel understands the importance of the small differences to making a five star experience. Timely guest communication, exceptionally clean property, tasteful decorated, outstanding

amenities are all comments repeatedly left by her guests. Raquel’s industry knowledge is indispensable to ensuring your property gets the best reviews and maximum rental income.

Moving from Ukraine to St. John’s in August of 2022, Mariana joined the NewGround Group shortly after. Mariana is fluent in three different languages including English. Her impeccable organization skill

and industrious work ethic ensure our office runs proficiently.
